the problem

Earth Garden is one of Malta's most beloved music festivals, held annually in late May. The event had built a loyal following, but its digital presence lagged behind. The website was outdated visually. It worked, but it didn't feel like the festival. With a new edition approaching, the team needed a site that could match the experience they deliver on the ground: energetic, immersive, and easy to navigate.

What Was Missing

  • No visual identity online — the site didn't capture the festival's atmosphere
  • No digital acquisition strategy — no way to capture interest before tickets went live
§ 02

the solution

  • Sign-up landing page — live within a day: full-screen video background, email capture form, and early-access ticket notice flow
  • Custom website — built from scratch and live in 2 weeks, including homepage, lineup, programme, about, and map pages
  • Ticket integration — checkout flow connected directly to the site for a seamless purchase experience
  • Email marketing campaign — targeting past attendees to drive early ticket sales and re-engage the existing audience

The Approach

Speed was critical. The festival was weeks away. We ran a tight, focused process: mood board, build, launch. The design language we developed centred on the energy of the event itself: high-contrast visuals, strong typography, and a mobile-first layout built for an audience browsing on their phones.

§ 03

the result

  • 78,053 active users reached between January and May 2026
  • 18,000+ new users in a single week — the week of the festival itself, showing the site held up under peak demand
  • 21,447 sessions from organic search — strong SEO performance
  • 95.6% engagement rate on referral traffic — audiences arriving from external links stayed and engaged

Traffic already building for 2027 — 1,024 sessions on the Earth Garden 2027 checkout page before the 2026 festival had even ended.

the business impact

1. A Digital Presence That Matches the Experience

Earth Garden now has a site that reflects what the festival actually feels like. That matters for first-time visitors making a decision and for the loyal audience who expect the brand to show up properly online.

2. An Owned Audience for Future Editions

The sign-up campaign began capturing email addresses from the first week. That database is now an asset. A direct line to people who have expressed interest, ready to be activated for every future edition without relying entirely on paid channels.

3. Ticket Sales Built Into the Experience

Connecting the ticket purchase flow directly to the site removed friction. Visitors go from discovery to checkout without leaving the brand environment.

4. A Platform Built to Scale

Traffic for the 2027 edition started arriving before the 2026 festival had even closed. The site is already doing acquisition work for next year with no additional effort required.

§ 05

the waterfall effect

  • The site drives awareness and captures first-time visitors through search and social
  • The sign-up flow converts interest into an owned email list for direct marketing
  • The email campaigns re-activate past attendees and drive early ticket sales
  • The ticket integration converts intent into purchases without drop-off
  • The data from each edition informs the next one — audiences, channels, timing

Earth Garden can now run each edition with a proper digital operation behind it. That's not just a better website, it's a fundamentally stronger business.
